Description:

Cream of tartar is a by-product of wine, obtained from the sediment produced in the process of making wine. It stabilizes and provides more volume to beaten egg whites. It helps produce a creamier texture to sugary desserts like candy and frosting. It is the acidic ingredient to some brands of baking powder.

Another helpful use of cream of tartar is to clean pots, pans, brass and copper cookware. Add to hot water and scrub your pots clean.
